Preview:
"The track is very good, very interesting, so I am looking forward to going back there. I think it's also good for me that the cars are new this year and have less grip. It means everybody must find a new way of driving, and for a little while at least, maybe the situation will be more equal. There were hardly any problems with the Tyrrell in testing, so that may be good news for us. The Ford V10 engine is also very good, so I will just do my best and see what happens."

Friday Free Practice:
"I was very pleased with the chassis balance and general behaviour of the car. The track was very slippery when I first went out and it was also quite dirty, with a lot of leaves lying around. The situation wasn't helped either by the rain showers which occurred during both sessions. At least it gave the team an opportunity to evaluate Goodyear's new intermediate tyres, though, which seem to offer good grip. I would have liked to have been a little higher up the time sheets, but it is only the first day of practise. If the weather is better tomorrow, I'm confident we can improve on the time. I am optimistic about being able to put in a good performance in qualifying and in the race."

Saturday Qualifying:
"It was a bit of a disappointing session really, particularly since the car feels like it has so much potential. We didn't find the best chassis set-up that would work here in Melbourne, and the car still had just had a little too much oversteer this afternoon. The Ford engine feels strong, so when we make some changes overnight, we will be in a good position for tomorrow. We know the car is reliable, and that will help us because this is often a race of attrition and if you can finish, you have a chance of a good result."

Sunday Race:
"My aim had been to avoid accidents at the beginning of the race, settle into a rhythm and then start to push harder as the race progressed. This is always a Grand Prix where there are a lot of retirements, and I felt that if I could keep going at a good pace, there would be the possibility of points finish. I thought the first fuel stop had gone well until I heard I had been assessed a 10-second penalty for entering the pits too fast. After I came in and stopped I could not select gears, the engine stalled, and that was the end of my race. All I can do is put this race behind me. I really hope that I can do well in front of my home crowd in Brazil at the next Grand Prix."
