"I'm extremely encouraged by what I was able to achieve not just on the reliability side but also in terms of performance. The carcar is handling well particularly over the bumpy sections of the circuit and I'm pleased with the overall set-up. I realise that tomorrow is another day and other teams will improve but we will get better also. It's a great feeling to have a day like today at my favourite place and in front of my home fans and I'm confident of a repeat performance or better tomorrow."

Квалификация (суббота):
"Obviously it's a bit frustating to finish as low as 13th after the promise of yesterday. We made changes after the first run but generally we lost too much time in the faster parts of the circuit. This morning when I had a good time going I was interrupted by yellow and red flags so in qualifying the balance of the car was not quite right. There are a lot of cars falling off the track so I'll just have to keep it quiet tomorrow and race to the end and if I can achieve that, who knows, I may just have a chance of a top six finish."

Гонка (воскресенье):
"I made a good start and gained a couple of positions on the first lap. The set up proved ideal for the race and the car felt great. We had a problem with the pit stop where we had to do an adjustment which cost us a bit of time. As a result I lost a position to Alesi - who I had a good battle with early on- and then to Panis. It would have been dangerous to continue the way the gearbox was. I'm just disappointed that I couldn't reward the team and my wonderful supporters with a finish at my home Grand Prix."
