Из высказываний

Свободные заезды (пятница):
"Not even I had the chance of studying enough the track, nor to work to reach the best set up for my car: this morning, in fact, after only 6 laps, I was forced to stop for a problem with the gearbox, therefore I could be on the track once more only in the last quarter of hour of the second session. This was too little time, to make an acceptable time."

Квалификация (суббота):
"This morning, after a quite unlucky practice session - that I ended off the track after only 7 laps - I faced the second one with all the necessary pluck to make a good result and I got it right in the very last laps, with new tyres, having the 13th time. I have to learn quickly this circuit, that I still don't know well, even if I already ran on it in 1996, with Formula 3. Things went slightly different, two years ago. In fact I qualified second after Trulli then, unfortunately, I couldn't finish the race."

Гонка (воскресенье):
"I am very happy with my result, even if the start wasn't easy at all: Olivier Panis was in front of me for about 15 laps and was much slower than me. I did what I could to pass him, but this track doesn't give you many chances to overtake anybody. When Panis stopped, I could finally push hard. I felt my car was good and it would allow me to recover, as it happened: I first reached Takagi, then Trulli and I closed the gap of 22 seconds between me and Hill. Maybe, if I could have had some more laps... The mechanics made a very good job at pit-stop and this helped me even more. Last year, here in Monte Carlo I didn't even see the chequered flag and I cannot deny, that having today my name on the race classification before Michael Schumacher, makes me feel quite strange."
