Preview:
"This is my last race for the Stewart-Ford team so naturally I would like to end my short stint with the team on a high with a good finish at Suzuka. I like the uniqueness of Suzuka, it's challenging from a driver's point of view, but some sections of the circuit can be a little dangerous if you push too hard. We have made some excellent progress with the car since Nurburgring. I'm optimistic that we'll end the year with a good performance."

Свободные заезды (пятница):
"I'm very pleased with the progress we've made today. Initially we were struggling with oversteer and went through quite a few set-up changes. Fortunately it just all came together in the end when we put on the new tyres. The set-up of the car is still not perfect but we know what to do to improve it."

Квалификация (суббота):
"It was a difficult qualifying session. The balance of the car changed since this morning's practice so we couldn't find the ideal set-up. I went on the grass during my second run and decided to abandon the lap. My final time was quicker than the ones I did earlier today but the improvement was not enough. We are going to look at the data overnight to see how we can improve the balance of the car for tomorrow."

Гонка (воскресение):
"Obviously this is not the way I would have liked my last race for the Stewart-Ford team to end. We had problems throughout the weekend finding a good set-up so I was not expecting too much from the race. After only a few laps I had a gearbox problem so it was probably inevitable that I had to retire."
